New Zealand Part 4 Christmas

We awoke at Tony's and Ann's with nothing to do and all day to do it.So the entire day was spent by the pool.

Sibling rivalry was prominent as both Peter and Ann dived,

jumped,

flipped

and did tricks into the water.

Cian was in his element with not one

but two mad adults to play with.

I sat beside the 24 degree water,

announcing that I would join them in the hot tub later!!

42 degree hot pools had spoilt the attraction of 24 degree swimming pools for me!

The hospitality that both Ann and Tony lavished upon us during our stay knew no bounds. We were wined and dinned on the terrace. We were taken to dinner, and to visit the neighbours. We were taken to view points with magnificent views.

Brother and Sister re-bonded,

smiling and chatting about the past and the future.

On Christmas morning presents awaited us all.

Cian was spoilt rotten with remote controlled boats, making and doing puzzles plus a HUGE Mecarnoe set that could made cars with engines and things!!?

Tony and Ann exchanged special gifts, smiling and laughing as they did. Everything about them was happy and relaxed and it was an honour and pleasure to share in this family's happiness.

Christmas day was spent at Tonys daughter's as the whole family joined together for a magnificent BBQ.

Tony's son from the UK plus wife and children were there, friends and neighbours arrived

and the BB was steadily fed all day as different courses were filtered through to the large table in the dining room.

Children bounced on the trampoline, dove in and out of the pool, games of cricket (Kiwi's V UK) were arranged. The basket ball hoop was assembled with much puzzlement and games were held. All day long food and activities abounded in the household until children lay exhausted and adults could no longer move!

The sun had blazed down all day, sun cream glistened on faces and shoulders as the sun finally dipped behind the hills in the distance. It had been a Christmas day to remember and we still had another week to go!
